Freckles appear as the result of exposure to the sun. They are most commonly seen on people with fair skin. Freckles are also genetic, if a child's parent has freckles, the odds are the child will have freckles. A freckle is also known as an ephelis. There are many ways to fade and lighten freckles. Here are some things you can do to lighten freckles on the neck:

  1. Rub lemon juice on to the freckles on the neck and let the juice sit there for 15 to 30 minutes. After 15 to 30 minutes rinse of the lemon juice with cool water.
  2. Add two tablespoons of warm unpasteurized honey to your neck. Let the honey sit on the neck for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
  3. Apply bleaching cream to the freckles.
  4. Wear suntan lotion everyday and you will become less prone to getting freckles. The sun can damage the skin, and your lightening techniques will not work if you expose your skin to the sun too much without sunscreen.
  5. Take Vitamin A supplements, as it is good for your skin.
  6. Use lotions that contain Vitamin C, applying it to your neck will lighten the freckles.
  7. Apply lotions and cleansers with alpha hydroxy acids in them to the neck. Alpha hydroxy acids improve skin cell regeneration resulting in skin cells being created faster replacing freckles. While using the acids be sure to keep your neck out of the sun because your skin will be more vulnerable and therefore it will be easier to get more freckles.
  8. Coat your neck with sour cream. Wipe it off gently with a tissue. Apply moisturizer.
  9. Wash your neck with sour milk, your skin will gently peal (without irritation).
  10. Apply Oatmeal, horseradish juice, or horseradish vinegar to the neck.
  11. Rub castor oil on the skin before going to bed.
  12. Mix milk and yellow mustard and apply to your freckles. Wash it off the following morning. Yellow mustard encourages skin cell production.
  13. Eat foods that contain Vitamin C. Vitamin C is important for keeping skin healthy. Foods that contain Vitamin C include apples, citrus fruits, kiwifruit, mangoes, redcurrant, strawberries, acerola, baobab, guava, jujube, and papayas.
  14. It is easy to hide freckles by applying foundation or concealer. Choose types that are closer to the color of your skin tone so it blends in.
  15. The sun is at its strongest between 10 AM and 2 PM, so if you do not have any suntan lotion then try to be exposed to the sun as little as possible during those hours.

You have to be dedicated to whatever treatment you choose in order to lighten your freckles.
