How To Make a Sugar Body Scrub

This article briefs you about how to make a sugar body scrub with a few simple steps. This homemade scrub will help in removing dead skin cells and will leave you with soft, touchable, glowing skin. Apply this to hands and feet to achieve soft, great-smelling skin.

Step 1

Materials:

-1/2 cup of sugar

-3 tablespoons of olive oil

-3 tablespoons of water

-1 bowl

- One of your favorite scents (optional)

Step 2

Preparation.  Mix half a cup of sugar, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, and 3 tablespoons of water in a bowl until they are mixed well (with no lumps in it).

Step 3

Add your favorite scent.  Now add a few drops of your favorite scent to the sugar/oil/water mix and stir well.

Step 4

Apply this mixture to your body.  After applying, rub in a circular motion until you feel that you have achieved your ideal skin softness. You will feel the sugar dissolving and the touch will feel soft. Do not rub more if your hands start to hurt or burn. (No worries, as this is probably not an allergic reaction to any of the materials, but instead a result of rubbing the grains of sugar.)

Step 5

Wash your hands with water until you can no longer feel the grains of sugar.

Step 6

Towel dry and apply lotion (if you wish).

Step 7

Substitutions.  You can use brown sugar, salt or sand instead of regular sugar.

Step 8

Warnings.

  • Do not rub any further if skin starts to burn.
  • Do not use hot water, or the sugar will dissolve and become sticky and will lose its "scrubbing ability."
  • Use this product on your hands and feet and not your face or other parts of your body.
