Who doesn't love a long, indulgent bubble bath? It relieves stress and heals your aching body. True, all that bubble bath solution can add up after a while. But you certainly can't go without the bubbles because then it would be just a plain ol' bath! Don't deny yourself the pleasure of a great bubble bath because of the cost of bubble bath. Make your own solution by following these easy steps!
Gather the materials. To make your own bubble bath, you'll need the following materials:
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- 1 cup mild shampoo or dish soap
- 1/3 cup glycerin
- 2 tbsp. water
- Essential oil or fragrance (optional)
Find a great container. Before you begin to make your bubble bath, make sure you have something to put the finished product into. You'll want a nice jar, bottle or plastic container. If you're planning on giving away your bubble bath as a gift, visit the dollar store for a trendy container, or re-use an empty bubble bath container that you already have.
Mix the ingredients. Now that you've got your ingredients and your storage container gathered, you can begin to make bubble bath. Start by finding a large mixing bowl. In it, combine the shampoo, glycerin and water. Gently mix these ingredients together by hand. Using a hand mixer is not an option during this process, as it will create a foamy, bubbly mess that will never resemble bubble bath again. Use your mixing spoon to gently combine the first three ingredients.
Add scent. At this point, you can add scent or fragrance, if you wish. For every cup of shampoo that you use, add about 15 drops of fragrance. Mix gently by hand until the mixture is fully combined.
If you're giving this bubble bath away as a gift, tie a beautiful ribbon around the top of the container, and create a personalized label for your bubble bath. Your friends and loved ones will appreciate this creative, relaxing gift.
