Gather your ingredients. If you want more, simply double or triple your ingredients. For a basic-sized batch:
- 2 cups of corn syrup
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1 teaspoon of dish soap
- Red and green or blue food coloring
Make your hot water. While you won't use it all, it is a good idea to have extra hot water handy. Take a coffee mug, fill it with water, and microwave it for two minutes. While it is microwaving put your corn syrup into a bowl.
Mix your water and corn syrup. Add 1 Tablespoon of water to your corn syrup and stir it quickly. The water has to be hot to melt into the syrup. If your consistency is still a bit thick then add another Tablespoon of water and stir well.
Add your dish soap. Add one teaspoon of dish soap to your "blood". This will make it easier to wash off. Stir it in really well.
Add color. You will need about 1 teaspoon of red food coloring. Or you can add color till you like the shade. Either way mix the red food coloring in really well. Finish the blood by adding one or two drops of blue or green food coloring. This will darken it and make it look real.
To use. Your fake blood can be used to stain clothing for costumes, paper for decorations (such as place mats and table coverings), and to color the skin. Have fun with it and smear it around.
To wash. To remove the fake blood from your skin, wash with warm water and soap as normal. The fake blood will stain clothing, paper, and other materials.
Warnings. This will stain material and other objects it comes in contact with. Be careful around things you don't want stained. It can also hurt the eyes and shouldn't be eaten.
