How To Use a Solid Hair Conditioner

Many consumers choose to use solid hair conditioner bars over liquid conditioners, the primary reason being the convenience of use. Solid hair conditioners, for one, don’t spill. They also don’t come in bottles, so they don’t add up to the tons of daily waste. What’s more, solid hair conditioners don’t take much space, so they are good for traveling. On top of it all, they work as good as, if not better than, liquid conditioners. In fact, most of them are made from natural ingredients, giving your hair the optimum organic benefits. If you are convinced that solid hair conditioner will benefit your hair greatly, here’s a guide on how to use it.

  • Shampoo hair. Thoroughly clean your hair using your favorite shampoo. Massage the scalp and stroke your hair several times. Remember to use your fingertips and not your nails when you do this to avoid damaging the scalp. Rinse your hair well afterward.
  • Rub the conditioner bar against your hair. First, wet the conditioner bar with a few drops of water. Then, rub it against your hair. Keep in mind to rub the hair only two to three times. More than that can leave you with greasy hair. If you have fine hair, avoid applying conditioner to the hair roots. Doing so will make a greasy look. Next, carefully massage the hair, allowing the conditioner to seep into your hair strands.
  • Let the conditioner sit for a few minutes. For about five minutes, allow the conditioner to sit and penetrate your hair. If you prefer, you can wear a shower cap, so if you decide to continue your body shower, your hair is protected from water.
  • Rinse the conditioner off. Once ready, you can begin rinsing the conditioner off your hair. If you have coarse and dry hair, you need not completely rinse the conditioner off. The conditioner left on the hair will serve as moisturizer and make your hair a bit oily. If you have fine and oily hair, however, you need to remove all the conditioner.
  • Dry your hair and style as desired. After rinsing, dry your hair with a towel or a blow dryer. Then, style it in whatever way you want. Your hair now is softer and more manageable, so it will be quite easy for you to style your hair.
  • Use solid hair conditioner as a leave-on product. Aside from shower use, solid hair conditioner can also work as a leave-on conditioner. Just melt bits of conditioner in your palm and apply the creamy paste product to your hair. Again, style your hair as desired.

Remember that the solid hair conditioner can leave your hair excessively moisturized and oily, so make sure not to apply a thick coat of conditioner. For best results, you can also use solid shampoo along with your solid conditioner. Like solid conditioners, solid shampoos come in bar form and are mostly made from organic ingredients. You can look for such products in online stores and in your favorite beauty stores and department stores.
