We all wash our hair and everyone wants hair that's healthy and beautiful. But there is an insider secret I am about to share with you about washing your hair that can help to make it even more healthy and beautiful.
If you use hair care products of almost any kind, you may have noticed that these products build up on your hair, and some don't come out even when you wash your hair with the strongest of shampoos. Hair spray is the worst offender and cheap hair spray is even worse. Hair spray buildup can get so bad it looks like you have lice! Many people actually mistake hair spray buildup for lice, and buy a lice-removing shampoo that's harsh, does nothing to make hair healthy and beautiful, and does not remove hair spray.
Other people resign themselves to picking out the hair spray buildup, but this is time-consuming and can tear your hair. Still others decide their hair is damaged and get it all cut off. But none of these dramatic measures are necessary because there is a cheap, safe and effective treatment to wash your hair and remove product buildup that easily removes hair spray buildup too.
The secret formula for healthy and beautiful hair is a mixture of baking soda and shampoo. It will not harm your hair and it will not affect your color. Even delicate highlights are safe. Here's what to do.
- Mix 1-1 1/2 tablespoons of ordinary baking soda in a small bowl with a few drops of water to make a thick paste.
- Add about 2-3 teaspoons of a good clarifying shampoo to make a mixture the consistency of mayonnaise.
- Thoroughly wet your hair and work the mixture throughout your hair, especially where product buildup is heavy (usually in the root area and on the ends).
- Leave it on for 3-4 minutes.
- Work the mixture through your hair again and then rinse thoroughly.
- Finish with a generous helping of your favorite conditioner, and then rinse again.
- You may want to add some leave-in conditioner because the baking soda can make your hair a bit dry at first, but this quickly goes away.
- Style as usual.
You may need to repeat the baking soda wash the next day if you have very heavy buildup. Otherwise simply repeat the process every few weeks, or whenever you notice any buildup. This treatment is safe to use as often as you like, but once every 2 weeks should be enough even for hair spray addicts. After washing with baking soda, your hair will look healthy and beautiful, and you will be amazed and pleased by the results. In addition, you can continue to use cheap hair spray with no worries about buildup.
