After studying your report try to determine what you need to do in order to clean up your trouble spots. Do everything you can to clean it up and make an effort to get some positive information on it. You may need to open one or two new accounts. make sure all the payments are paid on time and soon you should be back on track.

Start by getting a company credit card or account at any of the mass market retailers. They will periodically report your payment history to the credit bureaus. You can also try requesting them to, if you aren't sure if they will or not.

Other than getting credit accounts, which could potentially put you back where you started, it may suit you to get a guaranteed personal loan. The easiest way to get this type of loan is to borrow money from a bank or credit union using money you have in your savings account as collateral. Just make the payments as promised. As you make each payment, that much of the amount in your savings account is freed and can be withdrawn. Don't withdraw it unless you need a portion of the money to make the next  payment. Make all the payments as scheduled and when it's paid off, you can borrow again if you like. The second or third time that you do this , the bank may now be willing to give you a loan without using your savings account as collateral.

Once your credit is built back up you should have no trouble getting any type of personal loan. Show the bank that you are a prompt payer and keep a little cash on hand in an account to make the payments if you come up short on payday. You could even make the payments a little early each month.

Approximately one year from now or in the near future you should request a copy of your credit report again. They should look really different this time around. Any discrepancies you find on your credit report should be corrected as soon as possible. There is usually a form included with your report for you to indicate any corrections that need to be made.

The security and peace of mind that you will have in cleaning up and rebuilding your credit history are priceless. You can rest assured that if an emergency comes up the funds will be available to take care of it.
