Summer is just around the corner and everybody is excited for it! A good way to enjoy the summer is by learning to do new things that refresh us. How about baking this choco-chip surprise that you can munch on? You can even share the fun of making it with your kids or friends. So try it! Before we start, you'll need the following.
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. iodized salt
- 2 ½ Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla essence
- ½ cup semi-sweet or white chocolate chips (the volume of it is up to you)
- Butter melted (for trays)
- Cooking brush
- A baking pan (9"X12" or larger)
- 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 medium mixing bowl
- Spatula
- Sifter
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.
Brush the melted butter on the baking tray. Set the tray aside. This method will prevent the cookies from sticking to the tray.
Sift and combine flour, baking soda and salt in the medium-sized mixing bowl.
Place softened butter or margarine in the large bowl. Stir in white and brown sugar. Mix well.
Add the egg and vanilla and then mix.
Slowly add in the flour mixture then the chocolate chips. Mix until the chocolate chips are evenly scattered. (You can use both white and semi-sweet chocolate chips.)
Put the mixture on the trays. Using a spoon, scoop a rounded tablespoon-full of the cookie mixture and place it on the baking trays. Make sure you have at least 2" distance between two cookies.
Place the trays in the oven. Bake the cookies for at least 12 minutes or until they turn golden brown. If you have just one baking tray, you can bake your cookies in batches.
Let the cookies cool in the tray then transfer them to a plate. Share them with your family and friends. They'll surely love it. (This recipe is good for 20 cookies.)
