It is believed that the Long Island Iced Tea was created by a bartender in the town of Babylon, Long Island, New York during the late 1970's. To date, the International Bartending Association reports the Long Island Iced Tea to be among the top 5 most popular mix drinks. Here is the traditional recipe, so now you can swirl one up, and see what all the craze is about!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • 1.5 oz Tequila
  • 1.5 oz Light Rum (also called "silver" "or white" rum)
  • 1.5 oz Triple Sec
  • 1.5 oz Gin
  • 2.5 oz Sour Mix
  • A Dash of Cola

Directions:

  1. Add ice. Fill a Highball glass 1/3 full with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients.
  3. Stir.
  4. Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge, if desired.
  5. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
