Refresh Your Summer Day with This Delicious Drink with a Twist!

Difficulty: Very Easy
Cost: $1-$50

Michigan Lemonade is not made from lemonade, but you will be hard-pressed to taste the difference -- and you may never go back to drinking just plain old lemonade when this drink refreshes and cools you on a warm, summer day.

Ingredients:

  • Jack Daniels Whiskey (other whiskeys do not offer the same flavor)
  • Tonic Water (splurge a little for the best tonic water, not diet -- it is worth it)
  • Lemons (whole, not lemon juice)

Preparation:

  1. Wash and cut lemons in half. Use one half lemon for every drink.
  2. Into a tall glass, squeeze as much of the lemon as you can, then plunk the half of lemon into the glass.
  3. Fill with ice cubes.
  4. Measuring with a jigger, place 1 jigger (or 2 if it is a very tall glass!) of Jack Daniels Whiskey in the glass.
  5. Pour tonic water into the glass, just about to full.
  6. Stir.
  7. Enjoy.

Suggestions while enjoying your lemonade:

  • Head outside for a picnic meal.
  • Grab a blanket and enjoy the sun, your lemonade, and a good book.
  • Entice your partner to join you for a leisurely conversation on the patio.
  • Serve appetizers or snacks alfresco.

But, whatever you do, enjoy the warm, summer days of the northern country -- cool days of October will come too quickly.
