How To Make Chocolate Smoothies

Smoothies are great as a quick and easy filling breakfast, lunch or mid-morning snack. The best smoothies combine fruit with yogurt, ice cream or milk and add something special for a little kick. Chocolate smoothies provide that special little kick while satiating those chocolate cravings in a healthy way. Making chocolate sSmoothies is very easy. Here is a recipe for a fabulous chocolate smoothie that combines the tropical flavors of pineapple and banana with sweet, rich chocolate.

The first thing you need to do is gather together all of your ingredients. You will need a can of diced pineapples, a banana (preferably frozen), a few ice cubes, 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon of milk chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of hazelnut flavored coffee creamer, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg. The next thing you need to do is get out your blender. Tip: Use a ten speed blender with a plastic, not glass, pitcher.

Okay, now you are all set to make chocolate smoothies!

You've gotten all of your ingredients together, now comes the fun part! Open up the can of diced pineapples and pour the contents into the blender. Next, break the banana into 3 pieces and toss it into the blender. Measure out two tablespoons of chocolate syrup and add it to the mixture in the blender. Add the milk chocolate chips and pour in the vanilla yogurt. Carefully measure out the 2 tablespoons of coffee creamer and add that to the smoothie mix. Next, add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg. Tip: If you want to make your chocolate smoothie extra special, add a few spearmint leaves.

The final step is to throw a few ice cubes into the chocolate smoothie mix, cover the blender and blend on high. Tip: If you are a coffee lover, try using a half cup of frozen coffee instead of ice cubes. This would be especially good for a morning smoothie, as it gives you just that little kick start you need to begin your day. Continue to blend your chocolate smoothie mix until it is well blended and there are no large chunks. You should be able to drink the smoothie through a straw easily. Pour the chocolate smoothie mix into a large glass, top with a few chocolate chip or white chocolate morsels and enjoy your delicious chocolate smoothie!
