Jello Shot Recipes

Difficulty: Very Easy
Cost: $1-$50

Jello shots are a great way to add a little fun to any party. If you're planning a party or get-together, consider adding jello shots to your food/beverage list. Jello shots are inexpensive, and are a breeze to make. Best of all, they are sure to be a hit with any crowd! Most commonly, a jello shot is made with vodka. However, you may use any type of alcohol you desire. The recipe below reflects the use of 80 proof vodka.

Ingredients

  • 1 large (6oz) package Jell-O
  • 16oz boiling water
  • 6oz cold water
  • 10oz vodka

Directionshow to make jello shots

  1. Add the Jell-O powder to the boiling water. Stir until it is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the cold water and vodka. Stir.
  3. Pour mixture into containers. Small 1-2 ounce containers are ideal. Shot glasses are nice, but jello tends to stick to glass. If you use glass, try spraying a little non-stick cooking spray on it before filling. Small paper or plastic cups (like those used to hold condiments at restaurants) are nice, because they can be pushed inside out, making consumption easy. Many are available with lids, which can prevent spills and allow you to stack, store, and transport more easily.
  4. Refrigerate jello shots until firm (approximately 2-4 hours). Continue refrigerating until served.

That's a basic jello shot. Ready to get a bit more creative? You can customize your jello shots to taste like your favorite drinks and cocktails! Any type of liquor may be used. I'll give you a guideline for how much alcohol to use. For stronger drinks, use a bit more alcohol and equally less cold water. For weaker drinks, use a bit less alcohol and equally more cold water. But don't get carried away with the alcohol; jello shots will not gel properly if the alcohol content is too extreme. I recommend only adjusting the quantities a few ounces if desired.

Hi, I am planning a holloween party, and I think it would be neat to make some holloween jello shots. I want to stick to the theme and maybe make some orange and black jello shots. Problem is I don't know where to get black jello. LoL. Maybe I could just use another flavor and make them in little black and orange cups or someting? Does anyone have any cool ideas
