Thanksgiving is incomplete without a homemade pecan pie!

Thanksgiving Day is one of the best days of the year.  All the friends, family, and good food make for a great time.  One of the pieces of a great Thanksgiving Day meal is a homemade pecan pie.  After all that bread and stuffing there is nothing better to top off the meal than a pecan pie.  Listed here are the steps to creating that delicious dessert.

Step 1:

Preheat

Before you start getting all the ingredients together, go ahead and preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.  Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to allow the oven fully heat up.

Step 2:

Crust

In order to save on time, go ahead and purchase a pre-made piecrust from your local grocery.  You want to find a 9-inch piecrust.  This will make for a good-size pie.

Step 3:

Ingredients

For the pie you will need to gather eggs, salt, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla.

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • ¾ C. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 C. Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1 C. Crushed Pecans
Step 4:

Mix

Once you have arranged all the ingredients, you will go ahead and mix these ingredients together in a big bowl.  Make sure you have fully mixed the eggs into the mixture so that you have a thick mixture.  Once they have been mixed together add the pecans to the mix.

Step 5:

Pour

Once you have a good mix of the ingredients go ahead and smoothly pour them into the piecrust.  Even out the mixture and make sure you do not pour above the crust.  Leave enough room for the mix to rise while cooking.

Step 6:

Bake

Put the pie in the oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes.  You will want the crust to become golden brown, and the pie to become hard on top.

Step 7:

Serve and Enjoy

Once you have a golden brown crust, take the pie out and let sit till it is cool enough to serve.

After all that turkey and stuffing you still have something to look forward too!
