How to cook

The technique with cooking delicious chicken and dumplings is the timing that goes with your cooking. This is one of the simple recipes available, and all that you need to do is to combine the chicken, carrots, celery, onion, parsley, bouillon granules, and dried parsley into a large bowl. Add several cups of water in the pot to ensure that the entire chicken is covered and can boil evenly. This may seem simple, but keep in mind that at this point there should be just enough water. Too much or too little will make the dish too powerful and strong to the taste, or consequently, too dull and mild. To avoid this, use pots that can snugly fit in an average sized chicken that has been cut into pieces. Too large a pot and you will be forced to use too much water to simply cover the entire chicken for boiling.

Boil the ingredients in low heat, and remember to stir the dish every so often for the ingredients to release their flavors. You should also try to scoop up some of the dirt and debris that can sometimes float into the surface of the soup, which usually looks like grey bubbles that have been curdling at the edge of the pot. This will remove not only dirt but also the unpleasant taste of residues that have been left on the chicken’s skin.

Afterwards, remove the meat from the dish and separate the meat from skin and bones. Return the meat and continue to simmer. Meanwhile, you can start preparing the dumplings by adding water, flour, oil, baking powder, and salt and pepper into a bowl. Mix this until stiff dough has been formed. The dough can then be cut up and into small inch long pieces that you will simply drop onto the boiling chicken stew. Be sure to press these dumplings into the shape you want. Cook for a few more minutes, until the dumplings have started to expand and the insides have been cooked. For a more sumptuous meal, you can add milk, potato, pork and cornstarch to the broth, which will make the soup thick and richer. For a vegan diet, replace chicken with tofu. Serve right away, and enjoy a hearty meal that is sure to satisfy.
