Hi, I am Suzanne Samms, the other half of container gardening expert team and I am here to get news heard the seven step process of growing great, amazing and fabulous container gardens. If you think we are getting a great collection of container plants, flowers, herbs and fruits just out of your reach, I say think again. Here is a complete seven step process. Number one, get your lighting right. Number two, get the appropriate soil. Number three, check your humidity levels. Number four, water as appropriate. Number five, monitor your temperature of the environment. Number six, it may not be obvious, choose the right container. Number seven, add foods and nutrients as required. Keep in mind that plants that thrive in environment similar to their natural habitat. Now, let us go into more detail, seven key container gardening tips. Number one, lighting, plants of course, synthesize some light and carbon dioxide to create food i.e. photosynthesis. Even winter, there is still some sunlight required but of course a bit less. When you found the container plant you liked or where you would like to grow, the general kind of environment it is from. Is it a tropical plant, a temperate zones or on a dry environment. If you keep your container plants, flowers, herbs in your natural light for a stream a day then it may have the chance to survive longer but if you have a dark corner in your home or your home did not get much light, I suggest using a 150 waltz bulb, incandescent bulb and keeping it about four to five feet away from your plants during the day. Of course, you will need beating it does not really matter plants were used to dark environment and even easy way to get some light to your plant is to buy a plant stand equipped with built-in lighting system and this should be a great way to get plants on homes or on your home in a dark corner. The second key step is that your right humidity level. Again, this depends on your plants. Jungle plants need about 90% humidity, subtropical about 50% and temperate zone plants need 30-40% and last of all, it does not desert cacti, of course, due to their environment need only about 5% humidity. You can get cheap humidity indicators to let you know if your levels are right. The obvious signs of low humidity levels are dry soil, wilting and of course, for high humidity levels, you could have a soggy stems. Whereas you know, the problem is low humidity level which can be raised by spraying on the leaves about one or two times a day depending on the severity of the condition or more as required. You also placed the plant on a condensation tray which is really just a tray for the per condensation or just to keep the plant above the water and allows the water to evaporate up into the soil. Temperature, keep the right temperature level. Jungle plants require higher temperatures. Temperate zone plants fly up between 90-100 Fahrenheit and plants, flower and herbs are able to slow temperature at night. Tropical plants can have in the middle of about 65 Fahrenheit high, subtropical about 55 to 60 and temperate zone plants about 45 degrees at night. Very cold temperatures are handled well by most container plants of flowers, the exception being stagnant as they are about to extreme temperatures of the desert and the plunging evenings. Give the right soil, just give them a tree. The vibrant organic environment of jungle plants may be more conducive to leaf molds and moss. The good potting ratio for jungle plants is 25% organic in which garden alone with 3% leaf molds, 300 for course, will come up. Due to the organic matter on the soil, a more acidic pH of the 5.5 is ideal. Temperate zone plants have less organic material to cope with i.e. less wearing and tearing on the actual surface of the soil and therefore, they are more comfortable with the pH neutral i.e. 7. Desert plants prefers slightly more alkaline soil and therefore good parting way soil could be about 50% sand, 25% gravel and 20% organic garden soil. Containers, the material of the container will save the rate at which water sap down the soil. Clay container pots conserve water at a good pace and they are great as encouraging with operation and keeping the roots cool. Get creative. Indulge in container gardening ideas and choose a variety of different container colors and choose from styles a little bit of style to your home. Water, the rate of water required by container plant, flower, herbs and vegetables will all depend on the type of plants and the size and makeup as well as the temperatures and humidity levels have a nature of the container. Always check soil to determine how dry it is and top that is required. To prevent excess water loss, always keep assimilator of top soil or moss of the surface and never water with cold water. This is really, really a big check. Make sure it is at least room temperature or slightly above. Food and nutrients, slow release plants food granules can be added to the compost supporting mix in a recommended quantity before filling the container. Fertilizer granules can be sprinkled on the surface of the compost and gently weigh into the top layer. Pelletted granules can be pushed in at the bottom of an inch closure.
