Brushing your poodle before a bath and disinfecting the ears after pulling the hair out. Brush and comb your dog throughly everywhere. This means you must get each and every snarler and mat taken care of. You must make sure that you are going all the way down to the skin. The reason for this is if you try to just brush the top layers of hair and then wash the dog, you will make the bottom layers and mat much worse than they would have been if you are taking care of them before you got them wet. I promise that if you do not do a good job brushing your dog out before the bath, you will end up paying someone to shave your dog naked so you can start over.
