Male: Do you have design ADD? My eyes and mind are filled with home décor crushes. I am continuously inspired and trade and want a way to be able to rotate my style at home. One great way to shift your sofa style is by making your selves some new pillows. Inspired by Valentino’s lash and feminine fault line, this week we will make our own petal pillows. First, fine a soft yet lash fabric for your flower. Take a piece about 68 inches by 70 inches, fold in half and pin, so along the pinned line and edges. Now, cut out two circles for your pillow, locate the exact center of the piece and pin the end of the flower fabric to the center. Now, get out your needles and pick a thread that matches your fabric. Now, you are going to take your pillow and start sewing right where you pin the two pieces together. Once the fabric is securely attached to the center, you will start creating your flower by coiling the fabric around that center point slowly stitching along the way. Make sure your stitches are above the hand on the flower fabric hiding it under the petals. Feel free to pin before you sew if it helps with your placement. Continue this technique working with the fabric and making small pleats to create a fuller petal. When you get into the end of the fabric, tuck it under the last petal and sew it down. When you are please with the size and bonus of your flower, align the pattern on your fabric and place good sides together and pin. So the two pieces together leaving and opening for stuffing. Turn right side out just stock your pillow and using some of my mounds of left over fabric but you can get a pillow insert or stuffing at your local craft store. Now, fold and pin opening and sew it closed. You can up grade your pillow by adding piping as seen in the reupholstery episode. You have a petal pillow to style your sofa. When we come back, we are going to head over to the East Village to check out our Barrot’s New York Nest. Male1: I am not buying it Lloyd. Male2: You cannot, not agree.
