On this great spring day, I am putting together a victory garden, a victory against global warming. Right now, I am laying out all the plants that I want to put in this one-four by eight raise bed. I got my melon, rout tomatoes, and some green beans. For the rest of the bed, I am going to plant potatoes. I got some yukon gold potatoes, and some rusic potatoes. Potatoes are really, really interesting to grow. This is how your seed potato comes, kind to looks like a regular potato, but it is not. It is a seed potato. And what I am going to do is I am going to cut this up, and break it up, so I can have multiple plants. And when you do this, you want atleast to have two eyes per piece of potato that you are going to plant. We got so many eyes here; we can probably split this up into four. I am going to plant four rows of potato, so I need eight starter potatoes for the first four rows. Right there, look at that. So I have the Yukon gold. Okay, I am going to place the potatoes, and basically, I am just spacing them out evenly along my four by eight raise bed. Great! Now I have everything placed, and I am going to start planting. Now for the potatoes, you want to plant them a minimum of three inches, but the deeper you plant them, the more potatoes you will get. For this are going to be two rows of the russet potatoes, and then two rows of the yukon gold potatoes. One great thing about using raise beds in your garden is, that you very rarely have to bend over, and you all need is the small pool. Now I started a lot of seedlings endorse this winter, to give me a jump start on spring and getting some fresh vegetables available for my family, but this potatoes, you cannot really start, you cannot transplant. You have to plant them directly in the ground where you are going to harvest them from. Oh, look at that! So many worms. Look at this guy. Well I got this bed planted in no time, and I am going to be best friend of all the vegetarians in my neighborhood. I am Patti Moreno, the garden girl and Thanks, for watching
