To prepare healthy school lunches, you need to be creative, and you need to do it fast. Here are some tips to help you prepare a healthy lunch.

There's always a challenge whenever you face the task of preparing healthy school lunches. Making healthy school lunches demands that you make your kid's lunch so that he will both enjoy it and benefit from the nutrition he could get from it. Because we live in a busy world, most often we overlook the fact that our kid's lunch should always be nutritious, so that he could have all the energy and nutrients he needs to get by the stresses of schooling. The next problem is how to make healthy school lunches that are also tasty for kids. To prepare healthy school lunches, you need to be creative, and you need to do it fast. At the same time you need to inform your kid why you are packing his lunch in this nutritious way.

Step 1:

The first step for your kid to eat healthy school lunches might just be informing him about the health benefits of eating more protein, fruits, grains, or vegetables for his lunch. These are all parts of a healthy diet, which he could benefit from in the long run. I'm sure he will thank you for it.

Step 2:

Teach your kids about the benefits or advantages of eating healthy school lunches. He will need it more than ever because mainly he is influenced by the media (even at school) by bad advertising, which most of the time only promotes consuming junk food claiming to makes kids "cool."

Step 3:

Introduce your kids to the disadvantages of not eating healthy school lunches. Aside from malnutrition, your kid could also be facing obesity if he doesn't choose well what he eats.

Step 4:

Make healthy food available. The problem with most or some schools these days is providing healthy (while tasty) food at the school cafeteria. Or they do so but are overshadowed by their bulk of sodas, chips, and candies. As concerned a parent, you hold the major responsibility of providing more, I mean a lot more, healthy, tasty food for your kid's choosing. Don't rely on what your kid's school provides. Make effort yourself to make your kids eat healthy food more.

Step 5:

Plan your kid's lunch. Make them before the week begins. Write down a lunch menu for an entire week. Not only will this help you with the grocery shopping. It will save you time while actually preparing a healthy school lunch (without losing your wits!); more importantly, having a healthy "lunch of the day" will give your kids variety, which is enough to maintain his appetite. Just remember to always incorporate more protein, grains, and fiber into each meal. Also give your kids some delicious desserts but only do so in moderation.

Quick Tips:
Don't (or enforce a limit) give your kids money to spend on buying food or snacks. This will give him fewer chances to eat junk foods instead of healthy foods.
Serve him his most favorite desserts but only in small quantities. This shouldn't make him feel deprived of eating the foods he likes and cause him to rebel against eating healthy school lunches. You can also do this as a sort of reward for making healthier choices.
