How To Get Super Lean

Excited for the summer? Get a summer-friendly physique right in time for beach season. Here are some great tips to get super lean:

Watch your diet. Yep, there’s just no getting around this. Imagine that your body is the most expensive machine in the world. Would you be putting in toxic fuel into this machine to make it run? Remember, the food that we eat is our fuel, and we should be careful about every single bite that we allow into our body. The best fuel? Fruits and veggies, lean meat and whole grains.

Do cardiovascular exercises. Cardio exercises have so many benefits: they improve lung capacity, circulation, and help speed up metabolism. In fact, regular cardiovascular exercises can help elevate your basal metabolic rate, such that your body automatically burns fat faster, even when you are at rest. Some types of cardio exercises you can try out include aerobic dancing, brisk walking, jogging, swimming and cycling.

One of the best cardio exercises you can do is doing jump ropes. You could realistically do jump ropes even right at your office cubicle, during your lull times. Set a goal of about 50 jumps in one minute.

The best way to do cardio exercises is through interval training. Interval training refers to alternating between high-intensity bursts of energy with low activity. Let’s say you’re using a stationary bike for your cardio workout. Allot about 5 minutes warm-up, followed by a minute of high-intensity cycling. Immediately follow with a minute of slow-paced cycling; and do this high-intensity/ low-intensity cycle for 6 to 8 times. Allot another 5 minutes to cool down.

Do strength training. Strength training works to build muscle mass and reduce body fat. If you want to get defined muscles, this is really the way to go. In fact, it’s most recommended that you combine about 20 minutes of strength training with 40 minutes of cardio exercises every day, or at least every other day.

Have your body fat percentage checked. Your percentage of body fat is a very important factor in your quest for a lean body. Consult with your doctor regarding the healthy range of body fat percentage for your age and gender, and check this against your own body fat percentage. Remember, as you exercise, the closer you are to losing unwanted body fat, and the closer you are to achieving a healthy, lean body.

Avoid starvation diets. Are you tempted to cut back on eating entirely for a period of time just so you could lose weight fast? Remember this: if you drastically cut back on calories that will result in the lowering of your basal metabolic rate. Basal metabolic rate (BMR) refers to how fast your body burns up calories when you are at rest. Starvation causes your body’s BMR to slow down, and what’s even worse, once you do start eating your body will automatically hoard more calories just in case you start starving it again.

There you have it! These are just some of the ways that you could get a super lean body. Remember, care for your body and value it, and you’d be so surprised at how amazing it will become! Good luck, and hope this helped you out!
