How To Improve Your Eyesight

Nearsighted - that’s my eye situation since I was 12. Now at the age of 27, my glasses and contacts serve as my eyes at all times. My eyesight grade was just 200 when I first had my glasses, but now it reaches to its highest so far, 500. I wasn’t born with astigmatism or anything. I grew up without thinking that a careless act of mine could cause so much regret that I must carry almost forever.

There are several eye diseases such as; Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye), Diabetic Retinopathy, Eye Herpes, Glaucoma, Keratoconus, Macular Degeneration (AMD), Ocular Hypertension, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardt’s Disease (STGD), Astigmatism, Double Vision (Diplopia), Higher-Order Aberrations (HOAs), Hyperopia (Farsightedness), Myopia (Nearsightedness) and Presbyopia. However, is there anyway to avoid my case? Or if you already have poor eyesight, is there a way to make it better? I’ve done some research and this had been the outcome of it.

Step 1

Wear your shades!

During day time or if in a long travel, don’t forget to wear your shades. Your shades will protect your eyes against direct sunlight, as well as dust, smoke and wind. Shades help you to be fashionable and to take good care of your most valued eyesight.

Step 2

Avoid straining your eyes.

Reading or using your eyes with dim light can cause eye strain. Sitting close to television or computer monitor and too much exposure to sunlight can also have a drastic effect on your eyes.

Step 3

Get enough sleep.

Yes, sleeping helps our eyes. By sleeping, your eyes get resistant since they are exposed less.

Step 4

Eat food that is rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Papaya, Squash, carrots and some other fruits and vegetables are good for your eyes. Vitamin A specifically helps your eyesight.

Step 5

To treat your dark circles, put cool sliced cucumber.

This has been famous for years, so try it.

Step 6

Wear goggles.

Don't think that water from the sea or from pools couldn't harm your eyes. Always wear your goggles to protect the windows of your soul.

Step 7

Have your regular check-ups.

Blurry eyesight, headaches or any change in vision may mean that there is something wrong with your eyes, so it's better to be having a check-up soon.

Step 8

Do eye exercise.

I first read about eye exercise in Men's Health Philippines - it said that eye exercise can help your eyesight. There are so many articles in the net that teach how to do the exercises. Or you may also ask your doctor. 

Step 9

Use your contacts properly.

Do not use your contacts for too long or use it overnight since it can definitely result in some complications.

Step 10

Keep your eyes clean.

This means that you shouldn't touch your eyes when you haven't washed your hands yet.

These are just some of the ways for you to take care of your eyes. The important thing is that whatever you do, think about whether it could be harmful to your eyes. Hope that these tips can help you in taking good care of your eyes.
