While exercising, it is important to keep a training log to be aware of what particular exercise routines you have accomplished each day.
Knowing and keeping records of your training can help you find balance in your routine. Balancing varying, scheduled training-related activities can help someone who is training towards a goal. A training log can provide the appropriate order and direction when it is needed.
Knowing when to do certain activities is important. Having a general framework of what is needed to be accomplished is key. Having goals gives the trainee something to work towards. Keeping a training log with those goals written inside of it will provide the motivation to keep going. The log allows a person to build on prior training and get a deeper understanding of the levels that present themselves for any style of training. A training log lets a person know when to move on and practice another area within a set of parameters when one other area has been satisfactorily addressed.
The best way to keep up with day-to-day activities is a calendar. The larger the calendar is, the easier it is to keep up with. Calendars are effective because they have the dates already written down and are well organized and already formatted to a specific purpose. You can schedule training exercises in the future while keeping a log each day of what was accomplished. Calendars are a simple and very effective way of keeping up with your daily routines. Maybe you would like two separate calendars. Perhaps a notebook-sized calendar would be most effective for a training log. If it is too small, it could get lost more easily.
Schedule in advance. Sit down at the end of the week and reflect on your training. What did you accomplish? What could you improve upon? Take the time to consider these things and design the next week's schedule in accordance with the answers to those questions. The more you think about your strengths and weaknesses, the more you will be able to turn your weaknesses into strengths, and your strengths into virtues. When this occurs, the thing you are training for will become more fluid and natural. Use everything to your advantage. When a strength becomes natural to our bodies, it is ingrained into the fabric of our being. When we face a problem and overcome it, there is the essence of training.
