Medicinal herbal oils are made from organic plants and herbs. These are often made for healing purposes. People who make these healing oils say that it is very beneficial for curing wounds and treating other skin-related problems.

If you are interested in making your own healing oil, you may follow the steps provided below.

Here are the steps on how to make a medicinal herbal oil:

Choose the plant that you are going to use. You need to know which plant to use in making your medicinal herbal oil. You also need to know where to find the plant. Consult someone who knows about the plant to find it easier.

Get a hold of the plant. Once you know where to get the plant for the medicinal herbal oil, get it and begin the process of making the healing oil.

Let the plant dry. The first step in making the medicinal herbal oil is to let the plant dry. This is to prevent molds from forming in the healing oil.

Mince or chop the plant. When the plant is already dry, you need to chop it or mince it into pieces. This step is done to increase the surface area of your material for infusion. This step may be skipped, but chopping or mincing the plant may actually make the resultant oil stronger.

Put the plant in a bottle container. Pack the bottle container with the plant. Pack the bottle down firmly but gently. Be careful not to spill the plant.

Put olive oil in the bottle container. The next thing that you need to do is to fill the bottle container with olive oil. Pour until you reach the rim of the bottle container. Tightly close the cap of the bottle container and put a label on the body of the bottle. Details should include the ingredients and the date when the medicinal herbal oil was made.

Put the bottle container in a dark place. Store the bottle container containing the ingredients of the healing oil in a dark place. Store it for 6 weeks. The plant may react with the olive oil. This may cause bubbles to come up and seep through the cap of the bottle container. Don’t worry this is a normal reaction for the mixed substances. Check the level of the oil in the bottle container every once in a while. Re-add oil until the level reaches the rim again.

Strain the oil. When the six-week storing is done, open the bottle container and pour it in a strainer. This will separate the plant from the oil.

Put the strained oil into its containers. After straining, you may now pour the healing oil into smaller containers for easier use.

Making your own medicinal herbal oil gives you the assurance that the plants used are all fresh and effective. Make sure that you harvested the plant yourself, or you have seen it being harvested. Familiarize yourself with the knowledge of making a healing oil so you won’t have to buy the next time you need to use it.
