How To Make Your Own Aloe Vera Gel Hemorrhoids Treatment

A common disorder that afflicts both men and women is hemorrhoids. The veins in the rectal area swell due to different factors. This includes persistent constipation, chronic diarrhea, obesity or genetic predisposition. Difficulty in passing stools puts undue pressure on your rectal area, and that triggers the inflammation of the veins.

Hemorrhoids are normally treated with creams, suppositories and hemorrhoid pills. If you are looking for a natural treatment for this type of condition, Mother Nature has given a few. One that is used widely is Aloe Vera gel.

A medicinal plant with many uses, Aloe Vera relieves itching and discomfort. It helps heal burns, scratches and other minor injuries. It also reduces inflammation caused by hemorrhoids.

Recipe One

For this recipe, you will need a teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel and 1 drop of any essential oil of your choice. Lavender, cypress and frankincense work best. The Aloe Vera gel needs to be stored in the refrigerator until it is cold. As with ice packs, the coldness will aid in reducing the inflammation. Get a teaspoon of cold Aloe Vera gel and place it directly on a cotton pad. Spread this evenly with your finger. Add a drop of your chosen essential oil to the gel. Press the cotton pad directly to the hemorrhoid.

Recipe Two

This recipe uses Aloe Vera gel as the base for a hemorrhoid cream. A few other natural ingredients are added to improve the efficacy of the cream against hemorrhoids. Take note that two of the natural ingredients should not be added given certain medical conditions. To make the cream:

  1. Squeeze out the gel from the Aloe Vera leaf.
  2. Add a few drops of Witch Hazel to the gel. Witch Hazel will thin the cream a little because it is liquid. This can already be applied to the hemorrhoid. The burning and itching sensation will decrease once the cream is absorbed.
  3. Optional: Add Butchers Broom, as it is an effective treatment for inflammation as well as vein problems. A word of caution though, Butchers Broom should not be added to the cream if you suffer from high blood pressure, are pregnant, nursing, or suffer from benign prostate hyperplasia. Consult your doctor as well which medications do not agree with Butchers Broom.
  4. Optional: Add Horse Chestnut to help reduce the inflammation. This ingredient helps alleviate vein problems and makes the blood vessels stronger. Unfortunately, some have allergic reactions to Horse Chestnut so it is best not to use it if this is the case. Those with blood disorders are also not allowed to use Horse Chestnut. Use the younger plants because the more mature are deemed poisonous. Make sure to consult your doctor before you use this plant.

People suffering from hemorrhoids immediately go to their doctors for treatment. The doctor then prescribes special ointments that are applied on the hemorrhoid. There is no question that these ointments work wonders on the inflamed rectal veins. However, there are also natural remedies that can do the job minus the unwanted side effects. Home remedies are often cheaper and contain no chemicals. Aloe Vera and With Hazels are the go-to plants for hemorrhoid treatment. If you are unfortunate enough to suffer this condition, resist the urge to run to the pharmacy. Try one of these recipes for an Aloe Vera gel remedy for your hemorrhoids. If the swelling does not go down, consult your doctor.
