Normally, a person experiences 12 gas releases everyday. If you experience less than this, you are at high risk of experiencing gas pains. Excessive gas inside the stomach can cause so much discomfort. Other people can’t work normally when they have gas pains. Though normal, you can’t just wait for the gas to be released. You need to relieve gas pain now and stop your suffering.
Causes of Gas Pain
You can’t remedy gas pain if you are not targeting the culprit that has caused the pain. Most of the time, excessive gases are caused by air entrapment when you swallow the food. Gas pain can also be caused by high-fiber diet. Certain foods, other than fibrous ones, can also produce gases like legumes and other beans. Fatty foods may also result to gas problems.

There are different relieving techniques you can do to alleviate gas pain. Still, consider the main cause of your suffering when choosing among these reliefs:
- Exercise. Moving your body will help release the gas that is causing you pain. This is advisable if your gas pain is caused by intestinal problems. Brisk walking, bicycling, or simple stretching can already help you feel relieved.
- Beano. With this, you don’t have to get rid of the gas-producing foods. Simply add this to these foods before you eat. This helps to reduce the gas produced by the foods.
- Charcoal and hot water. Make sure the charcoal is powdered before mixing it with hot water. Although ugly to the tongue, this mixture is known to reduce gas pain. If you can’t take the taste, find better alternative with capsulated charcoals. These work the same way as the charcoal-water mixture. Plain warm water can also help relieve gas pain. However, this is not as fast as getting results with water-mixed alternatives. Instead of charcoal, you can mix asafetida to the water.
- Tea. Peppermint tea, chamomile tea, and ginger tea can all help release the excess gas trapped in your digestive track. These teas can also improve your digestion so you can avoid getting gas pains again.
- Fennel seeds. Eating a tablespoon of fennel seeds can help prevent gas formation and so avoid being bloated. If not while eating, you can take the fennel seeds after every meal. Doing this helps with better digestion.
Although relieving gas pain is possible, still, nothing beats preventing gas formation. Chewing your foods better, avoiding fatty foods, reducing fibrous foods, and eating slowly can all prevent gas from entering the intestinal tract.
