How To Blow Smoke Rings

Some people find smoking to be a filthy habit. They will admonish you for smoking and preach continuously about the hazards of your chosen vice or should I say pastime. As much as people hate this activity of yours, everyone will sure cheer at an amazing feat you can do with a simple lighted stick of a cigarette--the blowing of a smoke ring.

Blowing a smoke ring is an amazing-looking achievement. I assure you that it is just something that impresses anybody, no matter how crude it looks. Just follow these simple steps on how to blow a smoke ring and you will soon be puffing along yourself.

1. You start by getting the right cigarette. A cigarette that works well to blow smoke rings is one that produces a big full flavor and big smoke. Try full flavor, 100’s, menthols and the like. Light cigarettes can also be used but lights usually have thinner smoke.
2. Light up. This time you pack in the cigarette as tight as you possibly can. You can do this by repeatedly striking the top of the pack on a flat hard surface. Doing this packs the tobacco closer to the filter, leaving space on top of the cigarette. Once you have a tight cigarette at hand, start to light up. Enjoy the first few drags because those are lighter anyway. This will also help you relax.
3. Use your tongue. After you are nice and relaxed, take a fairly large drag and store it in your mouth. Then draw your tongue back to the back of your mouth. Keep it pointing downwards as you allow the smoke to move away from the lips.
4. Open your mouth. Now shape your mouth like a letter “O.”  To get a good guide of how it should look, say it as “oo.”  Then push small amounts of smoke you have in your mouth to create letter Os. The sound as you do this should sound like short sighs. Remember not to use your vocal chords. As you feel the smoke going out, push it with your tongue.

Now that you are cool and famous with this new skill set of an otherwise disgusting habit, be ready to blow the minds of those that will see you perform this neat trick. Just remember, though--do not blow a smoke ring at anybody’s face. That is disrespectful behavior. Instead, impress people with your unique skill.
