With a Feber vehicle, your child will experience the closest thing to driving a real vehicle. Thanks to the Feber battery, which made this possible. But before your child can enjoy another ride with the battery-powered vehicle, you have to charge it first. Charging the battery fully will take about 10 to 15 hours but once fully charged, the battery can only give your child at least two to three enjoyable hours of driving. At least, the enjoyment of the kids will surely be worth the patience and long wait.
Before you charge the battery, it is better to read the toy’s manual first. It has instructions on how to properly charge the battery and how to take care of it. The battery’s required charging hours and driving power depends also on its voltage. Commonly, a Feber battery can be 6-volt or 12-volt. The former is usually used for one-seat toy vehicle while the latter is used for two-seat motored toy vehicle. But don’t worry because charging a Feber battery, whether 6-volt or 12-volt, is as easy as charging your cellphone’s battery.
- Access the battery by opening the battery compartment. Check the Feber toy vehicle manual to locate the compartment since different models have different locations for this. It can be under the toy seat, at the bottom, or under the car’s hood. Take the battery out of the compartment and leave it in there while charging. Taking the battery out will give more time for the kids to play with the car, only without the fancy power. However, charging the battery without detaching it from the vehicle is the most convenient option, plus, it is a logical reason for your kids to give the car a rest.
- Connect the battery to the charger and the charger to the electrical outlet. Feber battery chargers usually have plastic lead. This should be attached to the Feber battery. Once the charger and battery are connected, connect also the charger to an electrical outlet.
- Let the battery to recharge. The battery will start charging after plugging in the charger to an outlet. Wait for about 12 to 15 hours and make sure that the charging process will be continuous. It will be very destructive for the battery if you unplug the charger before the battery is fully charged. Read the toy manual to learn the recommended number of hours that the specific model needs for charging. The model you have might have an indicator that tells whether the battery is already fully charged.
- Unplug the Feber battery charger and disconnect it from the battery. Bring back the battery to the battery compartment, in case you have removed it for the charging. The Feber toy vehicle is ready for two to three hours of playing after that.
Properly charging the battery is a way to take good care of this part. Read the manual to know more about other ways on taking care of the battery. If the thing is not properly taken cared of, you might replace it sooner. One 12-volt Feber battery can cost about $35 while a 6-volt is priced about $15. It’s not only a money-saver to take good care of the battery. It is a good way also to teach your kids how to be responsible for their toys.
