How To Crochet a Christmas Bell Ornament

Crocheting a Christmas bell is easy with my free pattern!  You'll find great tips  (and some cool patterns!) in the guide Crocheting Secrets Revealed.

Here's how to crochet Christmas bells:

Materials:

1/2 oz green worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook
1 red pony bead

Size: 3 1/2" tall

Gauge: 2 rnds of dc=1"

Step 1

Rnd 1: Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (16 dc).

Step 2

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before (16 dc).

Step 3

Rnd 3: Rep Rnd 2 (16 dc).

Step 4

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, ending w 1 dc in last dc (21 dc).

Step 5

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before, fasten off (28 dc).

Weave in ends.

Step 6

Hanging loop: Leaving a 6" starting tail, ch 8, join w sl st in 1st ch, fasten off, leaving a 6" ending tail.

Hold hanging loop on top of bell, fasten to underside top of bell by weaving through a few sts, leaving both tails hanging down.

Step 7

Attatching bead: Slide bead onto one yarn tail. Tie tails into a knot about 1/4" from the bottom of the bell. Trim ends. Slide bead over knot.
