The Internet is teeming with free information, products and services. Personally, I like downloading free music and e-books using a peer-to-peer (P2P) program. Looking at what I have on my files, it appears that I have saved thousands of money from them. However, since my daughter turned five years old several months ago, I found myself downloading free games off the Internet so that she could have her turn on the computer. And if you are like me, you would know that there are a lot of websites out there which claim that you can download any free games, including racing games, shooting games, dress-up games, and role playing games.
In reality, however, not all of these supposedly free game web sites truly offer users a chance to download full versions of games. Some of these web sites only offer the free trial version of games, or its online counterpart. In order to get the full version of the game, then you have to buy it. I know this because have encountered a lot during my searches.
If you want really free games for download in the computer, then you have to do what I did. I checked out every website and see if they really allow free downloading of full versions of games. Here are the websites from where I was able to download complete versions of computer games.

As you will see from this short list, some are really game websites while some are freeware sites. The difference between these two is that in game websites, you will see both new and commercially available games available for download. In freeware web sites you will see computer games that are relatively new and not commercially available. From a legal point of view, downloading from freeware sites is the best way to go about downloading free full versions of games on your computer.
Aside from these websites, you can also download full version of games using P2P clients. The beauty of using P2P clients is that other users have tried out those games, so you can be sure that they are indeed full versions. Azureus&Shareaza come highly recommended because of their vast databases and fast download speeds. You can also use Kaazaa, eMule, and eDonkey. Beware, however, of P2P clients like Kazaa which installs too many spyware on your computer. Also, be on the lookout of viruses—many P2P clients are loaded with viruses that can invade your computer when you download games.
Torrent clients offer another option to download full versions of games. One of the most popular torrent clients is Bittorrent. To use Bittorrent, you need to download "torrent" files from the Internet and run those files on Bittorrent. It will then download the files from the network to your computer.
