The Sorceress in Diablo 2 is a magical character that has magical defences and can cast spells to kill off monsters and other enemies. The Sorceress effectively casts destructive spells from afar and can easily evade her enemies but in a melee situation she can be very vulnerable especially when captured by monsters. Her defences are not good enough to escape the monster’s clutches. Below is some information on how to build a Sorceress and upgrade her skills in Diablo 2. There are a few character builds that you can focus on and upgrade her experience level so you can maximize her skills. You can pick one type of Sorceress to focus on.

Lightning Sorceress
The Lightning Sorceress is an expert at casting lightning bolts that creates a considerable amount of damage. This skill will require the Sorceress to use a large amount of mana, so you have to use the lightning skill sparingly. This will also be difficult to use, as it is often hard to aim the lightning bolt.

Fire Sorceress
The Fire Sorceress is an expert with fire skills. As the Fire Sorceress increases her experience level, she will acquire stronger fire skills. She will be a formidable foe when you use her in a melee situation as her fire skills are effective in close quarter combat, although her defences are weaker and will be vulnerable to attacks.

Cold Sorceress
The Cold Sorceress is an expert with cold magic spells. As she acquires stronger cold skills she can slow down attacking enemies by freezing them where they stand and allow her to escape. If an enemy gets a hold of her though, she will be in a lot of trouble as her defences are naturally weak.

Melee Sorceress
The Melee Sorceress is an expert with melee weapons that deals a lot of damage in close range. This will be a welcome change when you can get close to monsters and attack them unlike the other character builds where you always have to make ranged attacks. It will still be difficult to keep her from absorbing attacks though.

Arcane Sorceress
The Arcane Sorceress is an expert at using her mana to cause some damage to enemies. This type of Sorceress will be tricky to use as you have to manage her mana well to be effective in casting spells. If you keep her mana low, then her magic spells will be strong enough to deal with enemies. But keeping her mana low will also make her vulnerable, so it’s either you keep her mana high enough to keep her alive or keep it low to deal more damage.

Multi-Elemental Sorceress
The Multi-Elemental Sorceress is an expert in the various branches of elemental magic. She can manage immunities well and can cast ranged attacks to deal with her enemies. Dealing with her mana will prove to be difficult to maintain though and her magic skills will be limited.

There are various character builds for the Sorceress and each build will have a skill tree available for her to progress through as her experience level increases.

Quick Tips:
Max out all the types of armor and immunity defences to help the Sorceress from being too vulnerable.
