As for you, go on and make one yourself!

Mysterious Venetian Mask

You’ll need:

  • Colored paper card
  • Pencil
  • Shiny/Glittery pipe cleaners
  • Crêpe paper
  • A sheet of stickers made of stars
  • Skewer made of wood or a pair of chopsticks
  • Glue and brush
  • Scissors
  • Eye glasses
  • Paper doily

How to make it:

  1. Take your eyeglasses (folded) and lay these down on the paper card. Trace the outline with a pencil. Then, draw curvy and fancy lines on both sides of the outline and cut using your scissors.
  2. Turn the card right side up and apply glue using your brush. Place your uncut crêpe paper on top of the card. Wait for the glue to dry completely before removing the edges with scissors.
  3. Now take your doily and fold it in half? You see the semi-circle in the center? Cut that shape out. Unfold your doily and cut it in half once more from the fold line. Now pleat that half so that it resembles a fan.
  4. Proceed to take your glue, the halved doily and the outline of your mask and glue these together while making sure that the semi-circle is positioned on top of the mask. Outline your eye holds then cut these out.
  5. To jazz it up, use strips of colored paper and stars on the upper and outer portions of the mask.
  6. Take your skewers or chopsticks and fit the pipe cleaners in until it these are completely covered. Now attach these to the back of your mask using glue. Let it dry completely.
  7. If you want to add a pretty bow, use the remaining crêpe paper, cut this into the shape of a rectangle and wrap a pipe-cleaner around its midsection. Glue this on to your mask.
  8. As a finishing touch, sprinkle with multi-colored glitter.

Slippery Fish Face

You’ll need:

  • A pair of water goggles
  • Pencil
  • Glue stick
  • Masking tape
  • Colored paper card
  • Scissors
  • Standard ruler
  • Colored sequins

How to make it:

  1. Take your colored paper card and draw the shape of a fish then cut this out.
  2. Place your water goggles on to the fish cut out and draw on the outline. You can use a masking tape to hold the goggles in place if it will help you out.
  3. Take a different portion of your colored paper card and cut out a large pair of fish eyes and shapely sea palm fronds
  4. Go back to your other colored paper card with the outline of the goggles and take the eye holes out using your scissors. Now on the edge of the eye holes, make four tiny vertical slits to accommodate the straps of your water goggles.
  5. Take the straps off your goggles and fit these into the holes and then re-attach the same straps to your goggles and the fish mask.
  6. Take the colored sequins and glue these on to the body, fin, and fronds of the sea palm. Let it dry completely.
  7. Lastly, glue the eyes on the fish mask.

Now all that’s missing is your sexy, flashy costume and fabulous headdress!
