How To Make Fingerless Gloves

Fingerless gloves are very retro and trendy right now. You can see a lot of people wearing them; they are making a comeback. I am going to explain two different techniques on how to make fingerless gloves. The first way I am going to tell you how you can sew fingerless gloves, secondly, I am going to tell you how to crochet fingerless gloves. Let's get started turning your outfit into a bold statement.

  1. The first way you can make fingerless gloves are to look around your house for some old t-shirts, or maybe even long sleeve shirts will work out fine. Now let's find fabric scissors, if you don't have any do not use just any pair of scissors, make sure you have the ones that are made special for cutting fabric, and won't damage the blade. Now you are ready to measure the sleeve and mark where you want to cut it at. After you cut the sleeves out, turn them inside out. You need to now remove about one inch of the seam and about one half of an inch below the sleeve cuff; this is for your thumb. Finally, you can turn the sleeve back out and slip it onto your hand.
  2. The second way you can make fingerless gloves is to crochet a pair. First get your favorite color of yarn, or even two of your favorite colors. For best results, if you plan on wearing these gloves in the winter to help keep you warm it is best to knit it tightly. But if you are new to crocheting it would be best to practice a few pair first to learn how to knit tight. The easiest crochet stitch is to single stitch if you are a beginner. Here are some options for the experienced crocheter. You can use the afghan stitch, or some fancy stitching with bobbles. The easiest way to complete a pair of fingerless gloves is to begin by making two rectangles. Make sure they fit by measuring them from the wrist, to the base of the fingers. After that is finished, stitch it together leaving an opening for your thumb. You now have a pair of fingerless gloves crocheted.
