If you are getting ready to have a wedding in the near future, then there are some displays that you can place on the tables as decorations with your flowers. These little photo candle votives are a cute display that will allow you to place a number of photos that have been taken throughout the time that you have been together that will allow other members of the family and friends to see the photos of what you have shared with one another. This adds a small intimate insight into your relationship with one another. To create these votives, follow these directions to add a small touch to your wedding reception.
Make sure that you measure the glass votive holder accurately and be sure that you measure the circumference of the glass votive holder as well. If you are using square votive holders then measure them side to side.
Take the photos that you will want to display at your wedding reception to the local photo copy center and ask them to make copies of the photos onto what is called acetate paper. The paper that you are using will need to be the same size as the votive holder that you are using.
If the paper is larger than that of your votive holder then you will want to cut the sides down to fit the holder.
You will then need to lay the acetate photo paper down, make sure that your surface is smooth to allow the photo not to be wrinkled when it is placed onto the votive holder.
Apply a small amount of double sided sticky tape to the left and the right sides of the acetate paper. Be careful when you are lining it up as some of this tape will be visible to the eye when it is lined up on the votive holder.
Wrap the photo around the glass votive candle holder and make sure that it is lined up the best way possible. If you cannot get it perfect, then that's fine. A small mistake will be hardly noticed with all that is happening at your wedding reception. People will be eating and dancing and taking pictures themselves.
Press the sides that you placed the double sided tape onto the votive and slowly move over the rest of the photo to be sure that all the air bubbles are removed from the photo on the votive photo holder.
Place the votive inside of the votive holder and light so that you may see what it looks like when it is illuminated. You should only start with one and slowly do one at a time until you get the hang of it so that if one gets messed up to badly, you did not do more than one at a time this way.
