Every kid wants the chance to make slime at some point or the other in his or her life. Give yours a helping hand and limit the mess by participating in this fun yet crafty project. Follow these instructions to create slime.
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 cups cornstarch
- Food coloring
- 1 large bowl
Pour water into large bowl. The water doesn't need to be hot but should be warm from the tap as it is easier to work with than cold water.
Add food coloring. Let the food coloring dissolve and blend with the water before moving on to the next step. Keep in mind that if you want a dark color to your slime you should add more food coloring so that the water is a few shades darker than you want the slime. The cornstarch will lighten the color once added.
Slowly add in the cornstarch. Add the cornstarch a little at a time and mix it with your fingers. Slowly add and blend until you've added the full two cups of cornstarch and the mix is a smooth, thick consistency. The mixture should feel wet enough to drip through your fingers yet dry to the touch. If it is too watery, add some more cornstarch until you find the right consistency.
The slime is ready to use. Before pouring it over some unsuspecting friend or playmate, consider taking the slime outside. Slime is not fun to clean off kitchen cabinets or living room rugs so get the slime outside before having the fun.
Slime can add some fun to a boring afternoon and can be ready in minutes. Just follow these instructions and you can make slime in a rainbow of colors.
