How To Play Cee-lo

The popular dice game Cee-lo has been a party favorite in China for centuries, and has started gaining popularity in the United States. Cee-lo is also known as Sprung Flower in China. Cee-lo has been a very popular game for the past several years amongst American teenagers.

Cee-lo can be played with two or more players. To play Cee-lo you will need at least one player to play against and three six-sided dice, along with chips or money.

Each round of Cee-lo starts with each player placing a bet. The least and highest amounts of any bet is determined at the beginning of each round. After each player has placed their desired bet, players place their chips or money into the pile or pot. Some Cee-lo players do nominate an observer to act as banker; this role is used to ensure the winner or winners take all without any arguments.

To determine which player will roll his dice first, each player takes one dice and rolls. The player with the highest numbered roll is the first player.

Each player takes turns rolling the three six-sided dice. Trips, or three of the same number being rolled at once, does not count as a valid roll in the game of Cee-lo, and no points are scored for Trips. The highest valued roll in Cee-lo is made by rolling a four, five, and six at the same time. The roll with the lowest score is one, two, and three.

Each player continues to roll the three dice until a combination of numbers is made. Learning the combinations that can be counted as a score is the key in Cee-lo. Combinations that are most commonly made include two of the same number with the third dice being a different number. The third number in this roll would be the high score.

When there is a tie in Cee-lo, each player involved in that tie continues to roll until one player wins. The winner of the game takes the pot or pile that was created when the bets were placed at the beginning of the game.  If players of Cee-lo decide to split the pot, this makes for a shorter game.

Cee-lo is a great game and it's simple to learn; it's a perfect game for parties and is growing in popularity.
