The movie also made its name in other film awards ceremonies, such as the Golden Globes, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the Saturn Awards, BAFTA and more.
  • Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. This movie is a period film that takes place in 1805. Russell Crowe plays the British Captain Jack Aubrey who is ordered to take over the French’s warship. This film is considered as one of the most expensive films ever made with a budget of one hundred and fifty million dollars. Master and Commander was nominated for a total of ten Oscars. It bagged the award for Best Sound Effects Editing and Best Cinematography.
  • Gladiator. Gladiator is a story about a gladiator’s revenge. The film takes place in the year 180 A.D, the Ancient Roman Empire era. The film was nominated for five awards during the 73rd Oscars ceremony. These nominations were for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Costume Design. Gladiator was directed by Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe getting the lead role.
