Parents and teachers often want to encourage their children’s interests and help them learn about land animals.  There are many ways to provide educational materials that access multiple learning styles.  Parents and teachers can find many resources and develop age- and skill-appropriate, effective learning strategies to help children learn about land animals.

Zoobooks and World Wildlife Publications also provide reading materials for children on land animals.  Parents and teachers can often borrow these materials from libraries, purchase subscriptions for children, or seek out the resale market to access these materials.  These materials provide excellent visual and written materials for children to access material to learn about land animals.  These materials are popular in resale markets due to the quality of their publications.

Games are also available to learn about land animals.  Opportunities range from card games to board games, which are often more complicated.  Students can learn valuable information by playing games and working to learn more information to win games.  Educational video games are also available to teach students about land animals.  Parents and teachers who have specific objectives to meet can make their own board or card games. Students can be taught to make games which support learning objectives.

Field trips are another great way for students to learn about land animals.  Many schools and homeschoolers regularly visit museums, zoos, farms, and other programs dedicated to teaching students about mammals.  These programs give students a chance to learn with materials that are generally not available in traditional classrooms.  Children often get to see and experience firsthand live animal exhibits.  These opportunities often allow students to learn from trainers and handlers about the animals’ lives.  It is also a chance for students to get answers to questions that might have been raised while learning about land animals.

Internet sources are fantastic resources for students who want to learn about land animals.  Teachers and parents often do best when they preview and save sites for students to visit.  Computer software is also available that can support this unit either at home or school.
