You may think you are too old for animated movies on Santa Claus or for any cartoon show for that matter, but your kids will surely enjoy watching them. They will not only laugh and holler at the scenes they see but they will, unconsciously, strengthen their belief in the character. Of course, at their age, this is a good thing. Remember, you were also a kid once who sent a letter to Santa with a promise to be a good child. It worked for your parents, so it should also work for you this time when it is your turn at child rearing.
It would be a great experience for your child to whisper his Christmas wishes to a huge man with a Santa suit, but you cannot have that privilege daily. Therefore, if you really want to put a Christmas icon in your living room for your kids to see, you can show animated movies of him for your tots. Below are some of the known-favorites, which your children may love to see again and again.
- A Year Without Santa Claus
- Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer
- I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
- Santa Claus is Coming to Town
- The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus
- Gotta Catch Santa Claus
- Christmas with Santa Cartoon Favorites
- Young Santa’s Adventures
You may have to prepare yourself for a barrage of questions after your kids see the movies. If possible, you should spend some time with them in watching it so that you can provide the answers. Usually, you have to face such kiddy inquiries on getting letters from Santa. Things like home, animated, black, Christmas, history of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer may also be asked among others. While you answer their every question, you should also encourage them to give Santa cards to their friends.
This may seem like a feedback mechanism, but it is important in perfecting the craft in child rearing. Besides, you should not think of the video as a distraction for your kids while you do your house chores. Make it a learning experience for them. If they do not ask you questions about what they saw, you ask them instead. Find out what they thought of the movie and relate to them the lessons imparted from it. This may require you to watch the animated movies also, but that is even more wonderful. Taking some time in being with the kids strengthens the parent-child relationship. It is also a good way to bust your stress from housework.
When you talk of Santa, Christmas always comes to mind in a child. By making Santa Claus real for him, he will certainly prepare himself for the big event, Christmas Eve, by being good enough to deserve a gift. Of course, you can always make up stories such as that Santa keeps an eye on him the whole year so that he will try to be a good kid always.
