When you can find your room in the dark just through smell, it might be time for you to get moving and clean out your small space. Your room is a picture of what is in your head. That means, if your room is all cluttered then your brain is cluttered as well.

Unfortunately, you have neglected your room to the point where you can no longer see your carpeting. You have clothes on the floor. Used tissue stuck everywhere and everything is just a mess. This is just a job that is bigger than you can handle. You shout for help! Help! Help!!!

Sadly, no one answers your call. You are all alone in this whale of a task. What oh what could you do. What else can you do? You hunker down and get to work cleaning your room. Here are simple tips that can help you finish cleaning your room.

  1. Get yourself in the right mindset. First, turn off the computer and the TV. These things would just distract you from the task at hand. If you don't turn them off, sooner or later you'll be stuck on the couch again or chatting away on your laptop.  Now that you have the distractions taken care of, time for some mood music. Turn the radio on to something energetic. This turns the chore of cleaning your room into an active exercise routine. Then, open the curtains. Bring the sunshine in. Nothing is gloomier than a messy room in the dark.
  2. Get organized. Drag a large garbage bag in the middle of the room and throw all the things you don't need in there. Things like crumpled paper, used condoms, and your little brother. On another pile, put together all your recyclables. Like some old bottles, soda cans, stuff like that. For the stuff you are going to need in the future, put a big pile on your head. If you put them on your bed you will be forced to work on them until you are done, or else you will be sleeping on the floor. On the bed, make sure one side is for the clean clothes and the others are for dirty ones. Throw the dirty clothes in the hamper and fold the clean ones and put them in your closet. While you are at it, organize your closet. If you find some clothes you haven't worn yet, go give it to charity.
  3. Attack the pile. Now that you see your floor there should be big pile of stuff on your bed.  Attack the pile viciously.  Put everything where they should be. Focus on the pile and don't let anything distract you. For example, put your books in the shelves but don't alphabetize them just yet. Same with stuff that is supposed to be outside your room like dirty dishes. Put everything that is supposed to be outside of your room in a laundry basket and bring them out later.
  4. Time for you to grab an old rag start wiping.  Wipe off the surfaces in your room while tidying up along the way. Arrange picture frames, fix your bed, or even untangle old jewelry. Small details like that can make your room more inviting.
  5. Clean your floor. Now that you have arranged you room, time to put your attention to the floor. Give it a good sweeping. If you have a carpet, vacuuming would be great.

Now, you are done and you should be okay to get your room dirty again. At least, the next time your room is dirty you already know where to find these tips.
