How To Get Rid of Black Mold

Molds can destroy your home and damage your health. But of all the molds you can find in your house, black mold is the most common and most ugly. Molds can make you sick and do damage to your house without your knowing about it. It is now time to end your reliance on cold and allergy pills and live a normal life without chronic headaches. Inspect your house, detect molds, and get rid of them permanently:

  • Wet the area to be cleaned, preventing the mold from becoming airborne while you are cleaning.

  • Remove the mold with soap and water, and finish with an antiseptic to kill any mold spores.

  • Dry the area thoroughly after removing the mold.

  • Put the cleaned up mold inside a plastic bag and dispose of it in a landfill.

  • Avoid moisture in the area. Fix the leaks in your ceiling or walls and dry them. The decaying process in your wall or ceiling starts from moisture caused by these leaks.

  • Remove standing water in your area, and dry it by using mops or any drying equipment. Molds germinate and grow within 24 to 48 hours.

  • Dehumidify your room if the humidity is 55% or higher. A hygrometer should be used to measure humidity.

  • Minimize dust. Mold spores travel through the spread of dust. Seal areas that have been cleaned to prevent the spread of mold spores.

  • Also, seal the room to be cleaned to prevent the mold from spreading to other areas.

  • Install an exhaust fan near a window or door to direct airflow outside and to lower humidity.

  • Use an air purifier to reduce mold spores and dust in the air.

Humidity supports the growth of molds. Molds can grow anywhere. There are professionals who deal with mold problems, but they collect very high fees. There are also trainings and seminars on how to become a mold professional. Likewise, they can charge exorbitant fees. Operating manuals on how to get rid of molds are not widely available. But why should you go to an extra effort to invite these mold professionals, go for training, or purchase their mold control manuals when you can do the extermination yourself?

With the above steps you can do what the professionals do. It will cost you nothing but determination. You can get rid of the mold on your own and save thousands of dollars in contractor fees.
