How To Organize Bathroom Drawers

The bathroom drawers are one of the most neglected parts of the house. if you suddenly find your bathroom drawer containing more items than it can keep inside and if you can no longer properly close the drawer, here are some steps to organize your bathroom drawers and make them useful once again.

Empty. Start by taking out the entire drawer and scooping all of the contents onto a table. In a lot of cases, the bathroom drawer is so chockfull of old tubes, bottles and other personal materials that you barely know the actual contents of the drawer. By emptying the drawer, you will be able to see the things that you might actually use and the things that you don’t.

Trash. Once the contents of the bathroom drawers are on the floor, the next step is to separate the trash from those that are still useful. Check the tubes of facial wash, lotion, and moisturizer. If there are none left, discard the packaging. Check also for empty boxes, and small packaging materials that you can already throw away. Also look at the manufacturing date and the expiration date. Expired products should automatically be thrown away. If an item has been manufactured years ago and if you have opened it years ago, you should probably throw it away even if the expiration date is still a couple of months away.

Segregate. The pile of useful things that you are left with should be segregated into various categories. Some of the categories that you can create are piles for grooming where you can place the hair brushes and the hair clips, piles for cosmetics where you can keep all of your tubes of lipstick and your foundations and mascaras, and a pile for the facial cleaning kit where you will store the moisturizer, the facial cleanser, the pore minimize, and other products. If you have medicine bottles in the cabinet drawer, you should also place these in a pile all of its own.

Organize. Next, you will need to organize the piles or the categories that you have created. One of the best ways to do this is by purchasing small trays, canisters, and organizing boxes from the home supplies shop. Choose boxes that are small enough to fit into your drawer but which are large enough to contain all of the various types of materials that you will need to put inside the drawer. The best containers that you can have are those that come with compartments in various sizes, since the items that you will place in the containers do not come in one size.

Label. If you have a container that has a lid, you will need to use a permanent marker to create labels on the lids of the container. If you want to avoid labeling, however, you can choose containers that are made of see- through plastic that you do not have to label.

Make your bathroom drawers functional once again by organizing all of its contents. Through these steps, you should be able to do just that.
