Cockroaches are the most common household pests. They are tiny creatures but they can cause so much trouble. Cockroaches are said to be most active during the nighttime. This is the time when they search for food and water. They thrive in dark and moist environments.

Cockroaches eat almost anything. They eat sweets, meat products, cheese, grease, bakery products and the like. This makes them often infest homes, buildings and other locations favorable for them. Different cockroach species may be found in these areas. Examples of these are German cockroaches, which is the most common kind. The American species and Oriental species are some of the other species of cockroaches.

Insect exterminators find some difficulty in managing cockroach infestations. That is because some roaches develop resistance from different pest control solutions and insecticides over time. Another approach was developed to solve this problem. The organic approach includes products that can also be used to terminate mosquitoes and termites. Organic pest control methods like cockroach traps and baits are some other strategies that target the areas where these roaches inhabit.

Several approaches were formulated to terminate these hissing cockroaches. Here are some tips on how to set up a cockroach trap:

  1. Identify the infestation place of cockroaches. Cockroaches can usually be found on places with cracks, behind and under the sinks, kitchen bases, cabinets, and other areas that are favorable for them. Identification of these areas is vital for you to know the target area.
  2. Sanitize the areas favorable for their inhabitation. These will help eliminate the food and of the cockroaches making it impossible for them to stay and survive in that place.
  3. Seal the entry points of these insects, such as the cracks and crevices on the wall. This may help in reducing the problem of cockroaches from entering and infesting indoor areas.
  4. Use the best pest control formula for indoor roach treatment. Use of windows and screen doors may also be helpful in preventing the roaches from entering the home and other buildings.
  5. Aside from using insecticides, cockroach baits can also be used. These traps are strong adhesives, non poisonous and can last for about 3-4 weeks.
  6. Peel of the paper cover of the trap and place an attractant, like food around it. This will get the attention of the roaches and will help in catching them.
  7. When there is no roach trapped, you can move the sheet in places where cockroaches usually stay. Place it on the kitchen, under the sink, cabinets, trash bins, and the like.

Monitor and control the growth of the cockroaches’ population, by setting traps in all the places where they usually stay. Do this several times until they are fully eliminated.

Cockroach control is dependent on a continuous treatment until total elimination is achieved. Never settle for a one time treatment program. Set up a good control plan. By following these steps, you will surely eliminate the roaches in your house in no time.
