The sequence board game is an adaptation of a popular card game played in the past called Jack Foolery. The object of the game is to be able to get the right number of five sequences of chips on the game board in your particular color. The number of sequences that is needed to be able to win the game is either one or two, according to how many players are in the game. If there is a sufficient amount of players enough to require two sequences to win the game, you will be able to utilize any spaces from the preceding sequence, to be parts of your second sequence. This strategy game involves players both young and old, and is a perfect game to play during family nights and gatherings. Making your own sequence board game is great fun and you can make use of your finished project to provide you and your family great entertainment during those rare moments. Here’s how to make a sequence board game.
- Prepare your materials. For your board game project, you will need a 12x12 inch square cardboard piece, a pencil, a ruler, a standard 52 card deck, 2 Joker cards, glue, and a pair of scissors.
- Drawing your board. Take your piece of cardboard and begin to draw in a 10 by 10 square grid. Each one of your squares must measure 1.2 inches in length along their dies.
- Cutting your cards. Take your deck of cards and begin to cut 2 of each of their corners without touching the jacks, making sure that portions of the cards you cut off show their specific suit and the rank. Cut the corners of each of the cards to measure 1.2x1.2 inch squares. Proceed to cut off 2 of the corners of each of your jokers to measure 1.2x1.2 inch squares.
- Gluing on to the board. Take your board and begin to attach your joker square onto the 4 corners of your board’s grid using your glue. Now begin to glue in the cut-out cards squares on the row at the bottom of your board’s grid following the order of the joker, 4, 3, 2, and Ace of spades. This will be followed by the Ace, 2, 3, and the 4 of clubs, followed by the joker. On the following row glue in the cut-out card squares starting out with 2, 6, 9, and Queen of diamonds. Next will be the 10 of spades, the 10 of clubs, the Queen of hearts, and the 9, the 6, and the 2 of hearts. Now, glue in your cut-out card squares on the following row up on your board’s grid with the Ace of diamond’s first, followed by the 7, 8, 10, and King of diamonds. To follow are the king of hearts, 10, 8, 7, and Ace of hearts. Turn your board around and do the same process of gluing on your cutout cards to the opposite side of the grid. This will now complete the sequence board game on both sides.
You are now ready to use your very own sequence board game. Have a fun
night with friends and family whenever you get a chance and add some
excitement to your get-togethers.
