  • Using the basic search. Begin by opening the Yahoo website and clicking on the HotJobs link inside your favorite Internet browser. The link is located on the left hand side of your screen. After the website loads, place a keyword or two, such as 'sales person,' inside the search field found at the top of the site. It's best to try multiple keywords that match the job position you're looking for as some employers may have their posting searchable by different keywords and phrases. To help narrow some of the search results you have the option of placing a specific location and job category. If you're interested in viewing the different positions available in a particular category, you may do so by simply removing the keyword and searching by category alone.
  • Advanced search to narrow down results. If your basic search resulted in far too many job post matches, there is another way to specify the different requirements you were looking for. Begin by clicking on the Job Search tab and then clicking on the Advanced Job Search link. You will be provided with several options, such as experience, education, minimum salary, travel requirements and even the duration of which the job posting was created, to help narrow down your result list. Keep in mind, however, that some employers may not have used all the fields as criteria for the job. It’s a good idea to experiment with some of the options to either narrow or expand the generated results of your search.
  • Searching for jobs outside of the US. Perhaps you were looking to go overseas for your next career. Fortunately enough, you don’t have to look outside of to search through the thousands of job postings worldwide. To begin your search, simply click on the Job Search tab and then click the Search International Jobs link. Though the international search may not include as many options, it gets the job done. Keep in mind that the selected country in your search may have a different classification for job positions. If your keywords result in too few positions, you may consider searching through categories instead.
