Acquiring dark circles under your eyes before a big date is one of the most devastating experience in a person’s life. However, with the amount of stress accompanying modern life, you cannot help but get these annoying evidences that you have been up all night. So what do you do when faced with this situation? Simple! Use makeup to make your dark circles disappear. Follow the steps below to do this:
- Prepare the materials. You need a mild soap, a soft towel, a toner, a moisturizer (optional), a concealer, a foundation, and a loose powder for this activity. Examine the state and the color of your dark circles first, before buying a concealer. If the circles around your eyes are puffy, buy a concealer that is one shade darker than your skin complexion. However, if the circles are hollow, purchase a concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin color. Aside from this, it is also important that you choose the tone of the concealer you’re going to buy. Although yellowish concealers can cover most dark circles, you should select a tan or purplish concealer to hide brown-colored circles and an orange concealer to make blue-colored circles disappear.
- Clean your face. Washing your face before putting anything on it is important to prevent products from mixing with the dirt and oil on your face and block your pores. To clean your face well, use warm water to open your pores and dissolve facial oil quickly. Next, gently clean your face with a mild soap using small circular motions. Wash your face with water to remove the soap. Then, close your pores by splashing your face with cold water. Pat your face dry with a soft towel.
- Apply concealer. Put a thin layer of concealer under your eyes starting from the inner corners of your eyes. You can use your ring finger to gently dab the concealer, but make sure that you have washed your hands first before doing this. Although your ring finger is weaker than the rest of your fingers, you should still take care that you don’t stretch the skin under your eyes while applying the concealer. When you’re done, look at your face and see if the circles have diminished. Put on another layer of concealer, if needed. However, be careful that you don’t put too much of it on your eyes, or else it will look cakey when you apply your foundation. You only need to lessen its visibility, and your foundation will take care of the rest.
- Apply foundation. Use your ring finger or a clean sponge to put foundation on your face. When using your ring finger, dot the foundation on your forehead, chin, cheeks, and nose, and then spread the dots gently across your face. Dust loose powder on your face to set the foundation.
You can opt to apply full makeup on your face if you want to. Also, you can just apply lip gloss and a bit of blush on your cheeks to put some color on your face. If you want to put eye makeup, however, skip applying mascara on the bottom of your lashes. Mascara tends to fall off under the eyes, which can accentuate the dark circles.
