[Music Playing] I planted a variety of fruit trees in my landscape, right here next to me are two red delicious semi-dwarf apple trees. Now, when you are going to start your own orchard you need to take into account that your trees are not going to big and fruit in right away. It going to take a couple of years and if there is on the variety of fruits through that you plant. My red delicious semi-dwarf should fruit next year and in terms of taking care of them and pruning them, I am going to prune them this fall and I am going to choose braches that are crossing over each other or weighing the tree down in different directions. When you first plant an orchard you do not want to prune things down every year, you want to see where the fruit is going to develop. You want the tree to grow immature in your landscape before you start beginning to prune it and when your pruning it you just pruning for shape you are not really pruning for anything out over them. Over here further down, I have a bunch of Portland apple trees that I planted and these are dwarf apple trees, there is a different between dwarfs and semi-dwarf now the dwarfs are smaller trees the semi-dwarf are a little bit larger than the dwarf trees. Right here my Portland apple I already have some apples coming in. so this is the second here that I have this trees planted and I got some fruit coming through. It is extremely exciting I have another one over here as well further on down the line in my orchard here. This is another Portland apple tree that it does not have any fruit coming through but I am going to wait and see because this tree actually had a lot of little flower blossoms so we should be getting fruit. Over here, I do have some fruit as you can see, I have got these two little tiny apples coming through and I got another one from through here. Oh, no it is broken and I have to pull it off. I am going to give this to my goat stuff. This is another red delicious apple tree. Now, for this semi-dwarf I want to keep them relatively small I am short and I want to be able to reach the apple when they are coming through. If I allow it just grow all the way to the sky I am not really going to be able pick the fruit easily so that fruit is probably going to be wasted. So, what I am going to do with all of my orchard trees is make sure that I maintain them at arm length levels so right now this is the way above my head in this fall. I am going to prune them and make sure that all my fruit is in the arms reach. [Music Playing] So, go out there and get those apple trees, get them growing. It is going to take a few years, do not be discouraged I am not. Next year I am going to have a great huge bounty of apples.
