Hey! I’m Kim and I’m a fitness model with Ford. And today, I’m going to do another jump rope video. I don’t know if you’ve watch my video before but this is more of an advanced jump rope workout. So the first exercise that I’m going to do with my jump rope is just run back and forth across my room or my large space. So, back and forth across the room. Now, if I want to change this up a little out of little variations, I can. Once I get to the one side of the room, I can switch the rope and go backwards with the rope. So now, I’m running backwards. This will just get your heart rate up a little bit more than, if you are just running or just jumping and it works on your coordination. The next thing that I would do with my rope is the side to side run. So it is just like in basketball where you see people do that little shuffle thing. You do that with your jump rope. So, there’s a slight bend in your legs, you’ll feel it more in your gluts. And again, it’s a great cardiovascular workout. It works on coordination and you’re just going back and forth, side to side with your jump rope. The next thing that I did with my rope was the double jump. So, this is a lot of fun. It takes a little bit to get used to, but instead of spinning my rope once around, I am going to spin it twice while in the air. So you’re going to have to jump a little bit higher and spin the rope a little bit faster. The double jump definitely raises your heart rate while you’re working hard or you’re spinning faster or you’re jumping higher, don’t get discouraged if you hit yourself with the rope because you will when you’re trying this. But, give yourself a goal. Do 5 or 10 in a row of double jumps. So next, I try to work on my oblique for a little while on the jumping rope. So regular jump rope, and then I’m going to twist my body side to side and you’ll feel it kind of work on those obliques while you’re twisting and jumping. And then also, another thing you can do is to create like a skiing move. You jump side to side. So again, this is working on coordination, keeping jump rope fun and interesting and it’s cardio, baby. There’s nothing wrong with that. Yeah! So the coolest thing that I get to do with my jump rope is my spin technique. Just like Terry’s Yoga competition, if there was a jump rope competition, this jump move would make you win. So, I’m going to explain this the best that I can but you really need to get in the rope and kind of feel it out and to try it and see it if it works for yourself. So you want to start with your jump rope, I’m going to start on my left side. Hands apart like you would be jumping through it. You’re going to spin the rope in front of you, and as it taps the other side, you’re turning backwards and then you’re going to bring the rope and jump through it backwards. I’m going to do that a little bit faster so you can see it. So starting here, tap to the one side, open it up backwards. I hope you enjoy my second jump rope video. Hopefully, this will give you some more things to do with your rope to keep it interesting and having you jumping longer.
