The garden home retreat; this is certainly full of the abundance of the garden, fresh fruit, tasty produce, and a bounty of blooms that greets you at every turn. Inspired by all of this beauty, I felt we take this opportunity to profile one my favorites. Now, you have got to admire a plant that pulls double duty and that is exactly what you will get with Nasturtiums Alaska. What a vigorous grower and just take a look at this round leaves with slight variegation. Well I love nasturtiums in the garden. You should also know that they are a spicy addition to a salad. Because nasturtiums grow so rapidly from seed, they are ideal for starting with children and get this, they actually like poor soil. Now since nasturtiums do not transplant well, you might consider planting the seed directly in containers or wooden boxes. And as with any seed, you want to follow the package directions. And plant this one early enough so you can enjoy it throughout the summer well until frost.
