The last show I talked about The Best Products of 2008 and we talked about the best desktops in 2008 and so to this week we going to talk about the PC World recommended best products of 2008, the best notebooks of 2008. So number one, this is the MSI wind. At 480 bucks, this is the best ultra portable PC deal on the market. Complete with the Intel’s energy efficient Atom processor, good 10 inch screen, an 80 gig hard drive, weighs about three pounds, has three USB ports and 4-in-1 card reader, Ethernet port and 802.11g Wi-Fi. So, around 400 bucks, three pounder, put in your back pack, you are a student, whatever, and they are good to go. The next recommendation is the Dell Studio 15 which sells for about 1300 bucks. So really nice looking 15 inch laptop; really outperforms a lot of its competitors and at least the pack in their PhotoShop and video encoding test. Photographers who like the 4-in-1 card reader and a wide variety features really makes the Dell Studio 15 really shine. The next on the list is the Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N. Well, it reads almost like your VIN number on a car, does not it. Comes with the Penryn processor, really great performance in a bright 13 inch screen, full sized keyboard, the discrete graphics, cellular modem as one of the best of ultra portables on the market. But it is a bit pricey, about $2500.00, but if you travel a lot, you are going to love the five hour battery life. The next on the list is the Lenovo ThinkPad T400. About $1580.00 and, you know Lenovo ThinkPad has been a great name brand for many, many years. This thing weighs about 5.2 pounds and it brings features such as the Intel Centrino 2’s Switchable Graphics. Great resolution on LED screen, three UBS ports, 160 gigabyte hard drive and a variety of wireless options. The Techno Prisoners Alienware Area 51, the M15X. Smart appearance? It should for 4500 bucks direct as it come in by some of the best mobile performance and hardware money can buy. Even batteries all squeeze in to a relatively light 7.8 pound chassis. The Intel Core 2 Extreme processor plus the Intel’s 965GM integrated graphics, the NVDIA GeForce 8800 GTX. It has ultra sharp 1080p screen and a high speed hard drive that make this system really great for gamers and that sort of thing. And finally on the list is the HP HDX18T and now, this is a remarkable 18.4 inch screen, superb 1080p resolution, blue ray burner, outstanding performance numbers, high end multi media laptop. This will be a great desktop replacement and of course with 1080p is going to play the blue ray movies at their maximum definitions going to look really beautiful. This thing sells for about $2,000.00 direct. So there you have it. This is the best laptops of 2008 and there is something in here for the gamer. For somebody looking for the Dell’s for a nice Notebook, the MSI Wind all the way to a full blown desktop replacement with the HP HDX18T.
