I have been a freelance writer since 2003. I have a bachleor's degree in English and a minor in religion and philosophy. Before I began working for the small daily newspaper where I've been since 1992, I worked some retail and was a substitute teacher. At my newspaper, I've researched and written on a variety of topics, including travel and food articles.
As a child, I started cooking early and never lost my love for it. I routinely read cookbooks, just for fun. I am married and have a pet guinea pig. I grew up having cats as pets and learned how to take care of them, rather than leaving it to my parents. I also love to travel. The beach is one of my favorite destinations and I have planned trips into the next county, the next state and across the country, by air and by car. I am a Christian and enjoy writing articles about matters of faith.
